I love the 4th of July. I'm so grateful that I was brought up in a very patriotic family who taught me to appreciate our freedoms and the land we live in. I love going to the parades. It's nice to have a day set aside to remember our freedoms, and to have the opportunity to put my hand over my heart, and to be able to stand and clap for men who have given part of their lives for us and our country.
So, in the morning, we dragged Austin to the parade (this is so not his thing, but he was a good sport!)
One thing about Lily is she has very sensitive ears! I've even wondered if something could be wrong because of how sensitive she is to loudness. Ever since she started flushing the toilet, she'll jump off the seat to cover her ears! And last summer, we went to the waterpark a lot and she would seriously cover her ears the whole time. Well, the firetrucks at the beginning of the parade were no exception!
Can't beat Old Navy's sale last year. The dresses are not only so cute, but were only .99!
So really, I think the ONLY reason the girls stayed in the very hot sun waving flags is to get candy! And candy they got... it was like Halloween! We're still eating it! It's amazing what kids will do to get candy! :) They must be deprived at home.
Lily loved her chance to say hi to Diego.
Another thing about Lily, is that she sweats. Ever since she was born, the first thing to sweat is her nose. She gets sweat beads. I don't know if you can tell, but she is just sweating!
At night, we headed over to go see fireworks with Joe & Nannette and friends. We had such a great time with them! On our way there we stopped to get some fireworks and while Austin went to go buy some I took these pictures out of my visor mirror. I loved how they turned out...they are my favorite batch of pics from the day.

We had so much fun doing our own fireworks that everyone bought. It's a miracle none of the kids got hurt. I was amazed at the fireworks though we had. Austin bought this one for $5 and it went way high... just like at a pro show! Very cool! I didn't know you could buy these!
Hope you all had a good 4th!
