Emma's 6th birthday!

First of all... I have WAY to many pictures of Em's birthday that I'm going to do a scrapbook page to include more pics... but for now, here's a few. Let's just say she had a great birthday!

She woke up and had french toast per her request. She LOVED the fact that she got to pick out her meals and blow out candles with each meal. Then she got to open a few presents. She opened this outfit she's wearing and a Big Sister necklace. She was delighted! It was great to see her love, and be perfectly content, with what she had got. She had asked for a bike and had no idea that she was later going to receive it. This was the first time using my backdrop setup that I got for my birthday.. it turned out great and much more convenient than hanging material with thumb tacks on my wall!)

Click on this picture. While I was on these pics, I had to share this...with my new camera, look at the detail that I get even on a CROPPED photo! pretty awesome! love it! Not to mention the beautiful brown eyes!

Emma picked this cake out of a cake book I got from the library. It was fun making for her and it wasn't a total failure, which is always nice!

Emma's birthday menu: french toast for breakfast, ramen and cucumbers for lunch, and pizza and watermelon for dinner.

Emma got to have her birthday party at Build-A-Bear. She's been wanting to have a party there since she was THREE! So, it was a pretty big deal. It was a lot of fun! It was awesome having their cousins be able to come! She sleeps with her very soft bunny she picked out every night. Her and Lily love to dress them with our NEW baby boy clothes, wrap them up in blankets, and put them to sleep.

And then... she received her bike! You could not erase the ongoing smiles from her face. She said "she just couldn't help it!" She loved the little bag on it with a water bottle too.

I can't believe she's 6! I am so proud to be her Mom. She is seriously growing into such a beautiful, gangly legged :), wonderful girl who loves Hannah Montana and Webkins! She is truly a wonderful child! We love her with all our hearts and can't imagine life without her! She is such a remarkable joy in our lives.

Here's a few of my favorite things about Emma

1. She has a great desire to be good and to make us and others happy and proud.
2. She is very determined and she loves to be challenged. She likes to be able to accomplish HARD things!
3. She is incredibly thoughtful! I get love letters or pictures everyday! It is her way of showing us her love. (How nice is that! I think about how often I take the time to write her love letters, and I want to do better at taking the time like she does to say to her that I love her.)
4. She is a great big sister. She's a great example to Lily which I'm very grateful for. She often tries to talk Lily into helping clean or she'll ask Lily questions to help her learn, or she'll take her by the hand (This melts my Mommy heart)!
5. She is very smart! She loves to learn new things. She spends her nights reading. She loves funny things. Her favorite game to play right now is "Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader" and she loves the fact that she has honestly beat us, even her Dad! :)
I could go on and on about Emma. She truly has enriched and blessed our lives EVERY SINGLE DAY for the last 5 years! What a blessing she is!

I asked Austin to write 3 things he loves about Emma. Here's what he said:
1. Emma is thoughtful. Whenever she sees that I’m sad, she will always come and hug me or tell me that she loves me.
2. Emma is smart. She is so good at reading, and she loves to learn about anything that she can.
3. Emma is fun. She likes to play games….any type of game…all types of games…as long as it is a game, she’ll try it and have fun (she has even beaten me at “Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader” twice! (It’s true!)
