Last Saturday, William got blessed. We waited so long because we wanted as much of our family to be there as possible. We were going to do it in October, but we didn't because of the hurricane.
I'm so glad we waited. My family had a family reunion over Thanksgiving weekend, so most of my family were able to attend and also my father-in-law. Since we (and some of my siblings) needed to be on the road Sunday morning, we did it at my brother, Steve's house. It was a crazy morning of taking each others family pictures, but thanks to Steve, we came home (with not much time to spare) to their beautiful home ready for our family to gather together for this special occasion. (thanks Steve & Natalie!!!). I went in the bedroom to get William ready and I
was so overcome .... overcome with: gratitude, with love from Heavenly Father, with the spirit, with love from my family, with the tremendous blessing to have this son -- to be able to have him in our family to raise him, and to give this sweet baby boy a name and a blessing for his life. It felt so good. My heart was just so full. As I walked out to the living room, most of my family and Austin's Dad had arrived already. It was so beautiful to see them all there... I felt so much love surrounding me and I was so grateful they were there! The blessing was beautiful.
Blessing Day!
I loved this blessing outfit-- I picked out before he was born. After I got it, I would just lay it out on the couch for Austin to see how cute it was and imagine how cute it would be with our little baby boy in it! AND HE IS!!! :) (I'm such a NUT!)
no shoes...(didn't like any of them...)
The cap looks a bit bonnetish here, but I think it actually looks a lot like a baseball cap.
This shows an blanket I made before Emma was born... Emma & Lily were blessed in it also.
