That's right. It snowed here in Houston Texas! It was soo cold... It was in the 30's.
My parents have been here visiting for the week. They don't do well with cold. They are cold in AZ! Of all days for my parents to come and visit, it was snowing! We set the temperature to 76 degrees. No kidding, my Mom slept in her sweats, hat, and with 3 blankets on top of her. My Dad (who used to like it cold, but not now because of his "old age" he says) slept with 2 blankets on him (one being a very warm sleeping bag!) We were going to go get a Christmas tree tonight and get ready for Christmas, but it was too cold and too dark outside that nobody was in the mood.
We thought school would've been canceled, but it wasn't.
But... don't feel too bad for us. It's in the 50's today and I believe the 70's tomorrow and..
the sun is still shining...
and I don't know if this is true, but our neighbors said that it hasn't snowed in 6 years and ...
we still have green!
We'll take it!

Wow! That IS a lot of snow for Texas! Does it make you want to head back up to the good 'ol Midwest for a REAL winter?
funny to see snow on a palm tree. It definitely cold when you're not prepared for it. I love the snow- bring it!!!
Back in 1989 we we had our 6 months in Houston, I swore to the kids (Andrea, Brian, Liz and Heather) that it didn't ever snow in Houston. We ended up leaving in mid November, and we got word that it snowed that Christmas Eve, freezing water pipes throughout the ward. Needless to say, the Christmas program was really short that year. But I think the best was 2004 and there was snow on the beach of Corpus Christi for Christmas.
Our first Christmas here 2004 it snowed! It was just a little but still fun to wake up to snow on Christmas morning. Galveston got a lot more then up this way. It's exciting to have for the moment....but it is nice the weather warmed up.
