I signed the girls up for swim lessons at the YMCA. They did great! I was amazed at what they learned to do in 2 weeks. It's been fun watching them be able to learn and enjoy swimming!
For the first few weeks, Lily could swim under the water for a long ways! BUT, she'd NEVER come up! She'd swim half way across our pool without coming up! seriously. I got really worried about her when I heard of "DRY DROWNING." Have you heard of it? I hadn't! They said on Good Morning America that 20% of all drownings actually happen this way. After the child gets out of the pool, (I guess they have so much water in their lungs) that they'll go home and a few hours after will die. I was so paranoid after I learned this that I checked on Lils 3x during the night to make sure she was o.k. I thought that maybe she was swallowing water while she was swimming so far. Paranoia, I know! But, there's nothing better then feeling that worry go away when you see that little chest rise and fall! Lily now likes to swim better above water then under water.
You like the star goggles? I wanted to buy them NICE goggles, but they picked out the .99 cent ones! (we got both! :))

Emma is a regular swimmer now. She swims under and over the water. I don't worry about her very much in our pool. She loves that she can jump in the deepest part of our pool! She loves doing front and back flips (with her nose plugged). The only thing she can not get is how to do a pencil jump! It drives her crazy, but those little legs just bend every time! :) I need to take more pics of her swimming... the last day I was going to just take pics of her, but she got sick and didn't swim much.
This was so funny! The first week of swim lessons, Lily was so scared of jumping in. She would stand there like this for probably 30 seconds until her swim teacher would put her hands out (next picture).
Then she'd spend another 30 seconds to reach out to her hands.
and would reluctantly barely jump into the water! :)
But, she always came up with a smile and so proud of herself!

We miss you guys so much. Ava was so excited to get her mail. Thank you! She's also excited to send some mail to the girls. It seems like things are really going well in TX. I'm happy for you and can't believe only a month left before the baby comes. Take it easy and don't wear yourself out. There haven't been any families with little kids to move in at the complex. It is mostly college kids and singles. WE miss you all! Jenn
